Am I Stressed???

Stress is the mind & body's response to any given environmental condition. It's our fright/flight reaction we have when being or feeling threatened or pressured. Our body makes a judgment on what response we need to have.

These blogs are simply to offer a small insight and some information all of which are just my own opinion.

The case studies however, both showcase and evidence the power of hypnotherapy.

The Power Of Sleep

This is Flora - she is a prime example of what we, as mammals, should be doing. Sleeping well. The benefits of good sleep are endless, and as neuroscientists claim, it is the solution to many of our physical and mental problems.

Blogs & Case Studies

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy and massage go hand in hand like mums and babies! Massage not only supports women during pregnancy in a zillion ways but also has huge benefits for the postnatal period.

Making Waves

Waves are so hypnotic. They can be big or small, scary or calming. There are many different waves of different elements and different types, in fact waves are pretty much in our lives on a daily basis.

Neuroplasticity

What is neuroplasticity? Fundamentally it's about synapses in the brain, which are the connections between one neuron and another. When the synapse is stimulated more than once it strengthens that connection which is consequently the act of learning.

Hypno-Birthing, it's all in the context

Having spent many years not only attending births but also looking after women throughout their pregnancies, I have learned a great deal about us humans, especially at this time of extreme vulnerability  and powerfulness.

Are We in a Time of Sleep Apathy?

Well, as a hypnotherapist I LOVE to talk about sleep as sleep is the fundamental element to successful and meaningful results in therapy. And, I have become more and more aware of how many of us suffer from sleep apathy.

Errrr.... Weightloss

The so called weigh-loss industry is a multi-billion pound market. The sceptic in me wonders why is this? Where do all these millions of pounds go? Do they get ploughed back in to education, health, sports etc?

Does Hypnotherapy REALLY work?

Yes it does! But I may not be the most objective person to ask. The best evidence I can offer is that of my clients, and with the changes that has happened for them are key. The capacity and ability to create much needed space within our brain to let out the bad and bring in the good.

The Menopause

Well, the definition fo menopause according to NICE is as follows:
"Menopause is a biological stage in a woman's life when menstruation stops permanently due to the loss of ovarian follicular activity. It occurs with the final menstrual period and is usually diagnoses clinically after 12 months of amenorrhoea (NICE 2019)". Mmmm... bit more than that I would suggest!

Hormones, hypnotherapy and massage

The mind and the body are interwoven. We really can not ignore it. So why don't we treat them together? Well, not any more! I realised that the two modalities of hypnotherapy and holistic massage are equally effective and have the same end-game. So what would happen if I brought them together?

ADHD & NeuroDiversities with Hypnotherapy

Many studies acknowledge the benefits of hypnotherapy in helping with the symptoms of ADHD. There is so much out there claiming to help with neurodiversities but how effective and long-term are they?

Resilience

With hypnotherapy, resilience can be re-established. And it can happen in a surprisingly easy way! As humans we are pretty tough and carry on coping, but, there is always a breaking point. With hypnotherapy, we don't need to meet with that point.

Organic What???

So, this is not so much about therapy but it is close to my heart. Coming back from the Oxford Real Farming Conference, I had my heart truly warmed. The world is full of people wanting to make it a better place.

Blogs:

Self Reliance

A subject that comes up often during therapy sessions is motivation! We all need a little magic power-booster for all things big and small in life and can be unaware of how quietly it helps us by just sitting in our brains, ticking along and assisting us in our daily activities.

Closing the Bones

Read about the importance of this ancient and wonderful practice that honours and respects the strength and resilience of women, duing the sacred transitions of life.

Case Studies:

CASE STUDY 1. JEN - MANAGING ADHD

Jen has had ongoing symptoms of depression and anxiety, chronic headaches, bruxism, feelings of lack of control and focus, and some suicidal ideation. Sometimes falls asleep while driving and disrupted sleeping patterns.

CASE STUDY 2. JO & RICH - STOP SMOKING

Richard had been a 20+ a day smoker for 35 years. He lives a busy life with work and his family and his reasons for wanting to stop smoking, were for all the obvious reasons like health, money etc, but he had recently experienced some serious health issues which spurred on the need to stop.

CASE STUDY 3. ROSIE - HYPNO BIRTHING

Rosie was pregnant with her second baby. The first time around, the birth had not gone to plan, and baby was born at home shortly after returning from the hospital with a diagnosis of ‘early labour’.

CASE STUDY 4. CHRONIC ANXIETY KATIE (11yrs)

Katie lives with her mum and grandma and her passion is football, of which she is very good at. She is in year 6 primary school. She stopped going to school and found it hard to seperate imagination with reality. With weekly sessions over the first 10 – 12 weeks face-to-face. Then 2 weekly sessions for 2 more months. The results speak for themselves.

CASE STUDY 5. JAMES "THE NEW OLD ME"

James wanted his independence back. He is an erudite young man who thinks and feels deeply. Having had a fall injuring his foot, coupled with the covid pandemic, his confidence had taken a hit. James’s independence is something he holds close and protects with great vigour and has to defend this on a day-to-day basis which, unless you too have a disability, possibly has not ever crossed your mind.

CASE STUDY 6. ALEX - SCHOOL & BULLYING

Alex is 15 years old, they initially presented as fidgety and overwhelmed with school and relationships. We spent the first session hashing out what was needed and goals for how the therapy would help. These goals were to stop the anxiety; to be able to attend school; to embrace and understand relationships at school, and more importantly, to stop the suicidal ideations.
